O.K., I'll identify myself.  I don't actually do much birding, but I do a
lot of flower watching, the former and latter both mostly around San Francisco
Bay and in the Sierra.  I'm about to move to Illinois (U. of I. at Urbana),
and I'd be interested to hear from folks out there about birding, botanizing,
and (especially) access to USENET for folks not on the inside of a computer
science department.
