However, I have since gotten some information (provided by mit-vax!mp) that INFO-PCNET only averages about one message every three months (see the message below) -- hardly worth a gateway. Perhaps someone could hand-feed these into Usenet, and maybe everyone who voted "yes" (especially those of you who wanted to join!) can send off to offer to do a little bit of work on it. Someone (I can't recall his login, although I have it somewhere...) is going to send me a description of the protocols, I will digest them and post some of the more interesting things when I get them. --Dave Curry pur-ee!davy -----this is the note I received this evening ------- From ihnss!eagle!mit-vax!mp Tue Mar 30 20:46:50 1982 To: eagle!ihnss!pur-ee!davy Subject: PCNET Here is the response I got from the maintainer of INFO-PCNET: REM@MIT-MC 03/30/82 03:35:36 To: MP at MIT-MC INFO-PCNET has mail only when there are major new info to distribute. It averages about one message every 3 months. We wish we had more people doing active work programming instead of just sitting on INFO-PCNET expecting somebody else to do all the work and tell them about it. There is no log of past INFO-PCNET messages. ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
