Aucf-cs.417 net.news utcsrgv!utzoo!decvax!duke!ucf-cs!whm Tue Feb 16 22:44:56 1982 Following up It seems to me that one reason for so many redundant followups to an article is that people read an article, followup on it and then a couple of articles later, they see the same thing that they just sent in. It would be nice to have an option to "hold" certain news articles for action until the end of the session, and then if no further notes on the particular topic, followup at that time. B News might help this problem because all the articles for a group come out contiguously, but the crux of the matter seems to be that people don't know what somebody else has said until it's too late. (Of course, some of the problem is simply a property of a store and forward network. Even as I type, I may creating a redundancy.) About the net.general.followup--that's no good (at least in A News) because then net.general subscribers would get net.general.followup unless they !'d it. I think that much of the problem with replies that are on net.general that would best be in net.misc would be solved if [more] people would direct that followups on their article be sent to net.misc. Does anybody know when B News is to be released?
