Awatmath.1519 net.news utcsrgv!utzoo!decvax!watmath!bstempleton Sun Jan 17 23:52:00 1982 Shared with the arpanet groups. As everybody is aware these days, SRI is kindly sharing three groups with the ARPAnet (space, chess and unix-wizards). This is quite nice. (I assume fa.space will go soon) I am wondering however if the folks at UCB-C70 might be willing to take some of this on? This is essentially because that site is more central and more use to handling this task. It would shorten the reply strings. Because the USENET is not acyclic, I often get pretty long reply strings from SRI, but I always get a clean one from UCB. One group that I would like to have this done with is the info-micro group. Back when I read this directly with my arpanet mailbox 2 and a half years ago, it was quite an active group. These days hardly anything comes out of it. I would like to see a link set up where group net.micro is fed into the net and undigested messages to info-micro@mit-ai come out here. Furthermore, our group could be split up into groups like net.micro.cbm, net.micro.apple, net.micro.ibm, net.micro.68000 etc. for our own use. I suspect there are lots of micro owners out there who would get into this. (This was posted here instead of net.news.group because it concerns more issues than a new group) ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
