Chase, or is my Supreme Court chronology messed up again?) acting alone. Seems someone in Indiana was court-martialled, convicted, sued for a writ of habeas corpus, which he got from Taney. Lincoln ignored it. Whether or not the full Supreme Court would have agreed with Taney, I don't know.
