Asdcarl.272 net.news.b utzoo!decvax!ucbvax!ucsfcgl!sdcarl!rusty Thu Apr 8 15:14:23 1982 bug in netnews (ctime) at mcnc Ever since April 1st rolled around we've been plagued with what appears to be a bug in mcnc's netnews; they have "fixed" their ctime routine so that it uses a variable number of spaces for the day in the date. For example their ctime prints the (correct) date of Wed Apr 7 14:45 1982 incorrectly as Wed Apr 7 14:45 1982 Note the missing space before the 7; there is always supposed to be two spaces for the day. This bug affects us because we use the -M option with readnews to get the Mail interface and Mail assumes the date on the From line is in the correct format but since all netnews coming from mcnc is malformed it confuses Mail and articles get run together. Could someone at mcnc fix this please? Patiently waiting for April 10th, sdcarl!rusty ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
