Apurdue.153 net.news.b utcsrgv!utzoo!decvax!pur-ee!purdue!cak Fri Jan 15 14:38:26 1982 news complaint One complaint leads to another department: I was just reading an article; that is, I was trying to read an article. It was short enough to fit on the screen without using my PAGER, but it happened to be the last article in the newsgroup, and there was another to follow it, so the banner combined with the next start message was enough to blow the first few lines off the screen. Yuck! So anyway, I tryed to get back, and mistakenly typed 'p' which got me (0 lines) More? [ynq] at which point I typed -, and got a core dump. By the way, not all terminals have only 24 lines; I commonly peruse news on a 64 line terminal, and get aggravated at going into the PAGER for a 25 line article that fits perfectly well onto the screen. Oh, by the way, flame off. We just switched to B news, and I must say I like the interface better. Another gripe (but not a flame) is that - followed by another - gets me to the first article; I know it's consistent but it's not what I expected. chris ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
