I had an idea that it might be interesting to start up a set of newsgroups in languages other than English, i.e net.francais, net.deutsch, net.gaeilge etc. The purpose would be mostly to give people who speak those languages an opportunity to keep them up. The groups could contain items on any subject, so long as it was expressed in the appropriate language, but would probably be mostly concerned with the language and its corresponding country. This message is simply a trial balloon to ascertain if there is any interest in such groups. If you want to cast a vote for your favourite language, mail to me and I will keep count. Please keep mail in English. Another question open to discussion is the group structure. Should it be net.francais, net.lang.francais, net.indoeuropean.romance.francais, net.babel or what?
