Apopuli.167 net.info-terms utzoo!decvax!ucbvax!G:tut Wed May 5 23:17:22 1982 tvi925 review I was recently given a tvi925 terminal, and have written the following termcap entry for it. It seems to work OK at 9600 baud with vi. Some capabilities may be missing, but I don't know which ones. I case you haven't heard, Televideo will no longer manufacture 920's or 912's. # the terminal should be set to DUPE (switch S2 pos 1 down) v9|tvi925|925|televideo 925:\ :am:bs:co#80:li#24:cm=\E=%+ %+ :cl=^Z:cd=\EY:ce=\ET:\ :al=\EE:dl=\ER:im=:ei=:ic=\EQ:dc=\EW:if=/usr/lib/tabset/stdcrt:\ :ho=^^:nd=^L:bt=\EI:pt:so=\EG4:se=\EG0:sg#1:us=\EG8:ue=\EG0:ug#1:\ :up=^K:do=^V:kb=^H:ku=^K:kd=^V:kl=^H:kr=^L:kh=^^:ma=^V^J^L :\ :k1=^A@\r:k2=^AA\r:k3=^AB\r:k4=^AC\r:k5=^AD\r:k6=^AE\r:k7=^AF\r:\ :k8=^AG\r:k9=^AH\r:k0=^AI\r:ko=ic,dc,al,dl,cl,ce,cd,bt: At $680, I believe this terminal is now the best cheap one on the market. Being an owner and former supporter of the h19, I do not say this lightly. The tvi925 seems to have corrected most of the tvi920's design problems, except the underline/standout blotch. The keyboard is not at all stiff, keys are very well placed, the edit function keys (al,dl,ic,dc) can actually transmit, no null padding is required, reverse scrolling is quite smooth, and most importantly, the printer port works piggyback with XON and XOFF! There is a wonderful 25th set-up line that allows you to change baud rates (and other stuff) from the keyboard, without any fancy escape sequences. Let's face it, the tvi925 has features out the wazoo-- French, German, and Spanish character sets, detachable keyboard, any kind of cursor, blinking fields, half-bright fields, protected fields, optional control character display, send line/page, print page, a built-in clock, 920 emulation, etc. For some strange reason, they've changed the down arrow to ^V and there's still no security protection on send line/page. Moreover, there isn't any graphics mode, the 11 function keys are non-programmable, and there's no reset button. I would welcome any corrections to the termcap entry above.
