Ayale-com.483 net.general utzoo!decvax!yale-com!leichter Thu May 6 18:40:58 1982 Do you know the source? A number of years ago - something like 8 - an interesting quote appeared in a publication put out by the Princeton Computer Center. It was attributed, as best I can recall, to someone at Xerox. I've long since lost my copy of it - does anyone have it? The original had much nicer wording, but went something like this: We haven't solved all of our problems; at times, it seems we haven't solved any of them. [something about each "solution" just opening up new questions] We believe we are as confused as ever, but we think we are confused on a much higher level and about more important things. Please send answers to me by mail; I'll forward one clean copy of the text - if anyone has it - back to the net. -- Jerry decvax!yale-comix!leichter leichter@yale BTW: For those of you who believe in probability theory: The above text was typed EXACTLY as you see it; it was NOT run through a justifier, and I did NOT type the lines all the same length deliberately - it just came out that way! (It just happened again for the last two lines!!!) -- J ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
