First of all, the word in question, namely "Redjac" is spelled "Red Jack" in the short story adaptation of "Wolf in the Fold" by James Blish. Secondly, the ship's computer in that episode said that "Rejac" was a nickname for Jack the Ripper. Obviously the only reasonable spelling can be "Red Jack", since I can hardly imagine 19th century Londoners spelling it "Redjac"! (For those of you ignorant of the fact, "red" is the color of human circulatory fluid, which is emitted in great quantities when Jack rips a human organism) I will admit that in the show the pronun- ciation of the word is slurred to sound like "redjuk", which probably accounts for the weird spelling given in the "Star r Trek Puzzle Manual".
