The answers to last week's trivia are as follows: 1. The superhero team that (in the 60's) shared the closest resemblance to another team was GREEN ARROW and SPEEDY, to BATMAN and ROBIN. Compare: Both GA and BM were tycoons, both had orphaned wards who were also there fighting companions, both had dogs (Batdog and Streak?), both used caves as their HQ, both had specialized transportation (the Batmobile and the Arrow Car), etc. Unfortunately, with all these simillarities, and as well known as GA is, NO ONE got the answer to this! 2. The Green Lantern of the 40's and 50's (from Earth 2 in the 60's) ring had no power against WOOD. 3. The superhero from another planet in our solor system was J'ONN JO'NZZ, the Martian Manhunter. He was a member of the martian police force and disguised himself as an earthling when here on Earth. His alias here was John Jones and he was a private investigator. He was also a member of the Justice League of America. 4. The only superhero that voluntarily became a drug addict was SPEEDY, Green Arrow's Sidekick. This occurred in the early 70's and appeared in the message-heavy (but excellent) short-lived series GREEN LANTERN and GREEN ARROW. His reason for going on heroin was because GA was never around when he needed someone to talk to so he needed an escape which he made through drugs. This is also what forced Speedy to drop out of the TEEN TITANS. Most of you got at least 2 0f the last 3 questions. Anyone who got all four, go to the head of the class! More trivia coming up soon. --Jim ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
