I have the scoring pretty much the same, I think, but there are some questions I'd like to ask of anyone who plays the real game regularly or watches a wizard: After you eat a blue monster, how long does he wait before he is allowed to leave home again? What order to monsters leave home in - it it always the same order or does it have anything to do with the order they recently got eaten? How often does a treasure appear - the version we all have drops one for every four monsters you eat - is the real game different? What kinds of things happen when you eat the last dot and you aren't in a vanilla state? For example, what happens if you finish the board and some or all monsters are blue? How about if you have an uneaten treasure? I would also appreciate hearing comments on the baud rate usability of the version I posted before. It contains a fudge factor to make the game playable at 1200 baud, but it isn't really there. Any feedback about where the cutover point between getting quick response and having to anticipate a turn, as a function of (1) baud rate, (2) terminal type [HP's, vt100's, and the like have verbose cursor addressing sequences and will tend to be worse] and (3) board number [what I really want here is the delay and refresh printed in the bottom corner]. I agree with the added refresh call to make pacman-dangerous mode more playable - I had already done that. It isn't perfect since there are different amounts of output when the monsters do and don't move, but it's a big improvement. Recent developments in my version include a 3rd game which has very intelligent monsters - this game is too hard for me; the pacman has been rotated 180 degrees so that his mouth faces forward, rather than being viewed as a pointing arrow (this meant rotating the movie, which I put in today). I intend to post my version again eventually, but I want to get the scoring right (or as close as possible) first.
