The AD&D rule is quite clear with res- pect to human MU's. NO *ARMOR*. However, it doesn't say *no metal*. I have the 1978 edition of the AD&D Player Manual which makes the whole issue clear on page 25 b para 2 last sentence "Furthermore, they can wear no armor and have few weapons they can use..." This has nothing to do with the fact that metals kill off their magic, but rather that regular MU's are non-combatants when it comes to physical weapon slinging. TSR makes it that MU training is mutually exclusive with military disciplines.
