It's awfully hard (for me, anyway) to follow, as you get twisted around upside down, and the controls are EXTREMELY sensitive. For those of you interested in Defender, there is a new one out, called STARGATE - this is the "Super Defender" we've all been waiting for. There's about twice as much crap to shoot at, and another button ("inviso" - you disappear except on radar, anything you run into dies). Another nice feature of it is that you get 3 ships/3 bombs for .25, 7 ships/7 bombs for .50 - great for learning the game. A side note- the system administrator here bought his own Battle Zone, and brought it in to the "HKN Lounge" (they sell Pepsi, etc.) where they took it apart, sped up the clock, and other fun junk. He finally sold it to a pizza place, and promptly bought a Red Baron, which he has now sold once again. By the way, the "world's record" score on Defender, according to an article in TIME Mag., is something like 16,683,100 (roughly) gotten by some kid in Chicago(?) after 16 hours on one quarter. (and I thought my 184,000 was good!) --Dave ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
