This is just Ridiculous.
net.followup is ridiculous as it now stands.
What news item is this followup in reference to?
When where why how? Who knows?

All the followups from foo.* are clumped into foo.followup.
Talk about brain damage.  Before you kiddies were born, they
had something called batch processing, which had all the
advantages of foo.followup newsgroups.  Feh!
