For all we know it may be well known - but it sure is good! ========================================================================== Swedish Meat Balls 1 onion, grated 1 egg 2 lbs. ground beef 1-1/2 tsp salt pepper paprika speck of garlic 1/4 cup bread crumbs or matzo meal 1/2 cup ice water 1 small green pepper diced sliced mushrooms (optional) 1 can whole cranberries 2 small cans tomato sauce (Hunts) Mix first list of ingredients (through water) and roll in balls, either small (for cocktail party eating) or larger (for dinner). Bake at 350, on cookie sheet with sides, 8-12 minutes. Remove meat balls to a heavy cooker (e.g., Dutch Oven). Pour remaining ingredients over meat balls and simmer on top of stove 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Can be frozen at this point for later use. Goes well with rice for dinner. ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
