Bellovin To: duke!mhtsa!research!sjb Subject: Re: feedback Let me make another suggestion. If you want others to participate, try to put in less of your own. Many perceive this newsgroup as a monologue, with portions of the AP wire. Yes, people are interested, but they aren't going to participate in what seems to be your toy. Especially this week, when the shuttle is flying, there'll be lots of minor items. Don't send them! If you want, enter about 2 stories a day. Those who are interested can follow things on their own (and will be doing so); and, as Lauren pointed out, there's a substantial delay in reaching other sites, which makes the minute-by-minute bulletins a trifle stale. So -- keep quiet and let others talk. ----------------------------- This is a good idea. Ok, from now on, I'll only put in real important stuff. If you want to, feel free to put anything in and I'll be sure not to duplicate it. ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
