They will remain open for most of the flight to allow the scientific payload to have a view of the Earth and to get rid of excess heat from the ship's instruments. Day 2: Testing of the 50 foot ``Canadarm'' that will be used in the future to remove and place satellites from/into orbit. Day 3: Joe Engle will practice space walking procedures, going as far as donning his space suit and practicing the exit of the pressurized shuttle. He will enter the air lock but short short of depressurizing it. Day 4: Engle and Joe Truly will turn off the experiments and clean up around the house. Day 5: The payload bay doors will be closed, Engle and Truly will put on the pressure suits, and maneuvers that will start the descent of the shuttle into the atmosphere will be executed. ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
