Officials are expected to reach a decision by Friday whether or not to remove the shuttle from the pad, take it to the Vehicle Assembly Building, disassemble the ship, and take it to its hangar in order to fix the pod. That process will delay the launch at least a month. A technician will climb into the pod to check out the extent of damage in order to decide. Meanwhile, 288 tiles have now been removed with the number expected to climb to 350. ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
