Aucbvax.6328 net.bugs.2bsd utcsrgv!utzoo!decvax!ucbvax!randvax!sdcnet!dgc Sun Feb 28 17:18:21 1982 Misc. comments From: Dave Clemans It probably should be explicitly stated in the documentation that the RL01/RL02 bootstrap does NOT look at the switch register (and if non-zero, read a pathname from the console), while most of the other bootstraps do. The 2.8 tape that we got did not have an RM02/RM03 first level bootstrap; but by changing the 19 to 5, etc. in the RM05 boot you do get a working RM02/RM03 boot. The xp.c driver works for the new System Industries 6100 controller board (with the proviso that the previously given out fix to not depend on PIP as a ready bit is applied). The BEP chip on the 6100 is working quite nicely; we're running it with a Fujitsu 160MB drive, and we are not seeing any ECC errors, even on the sectors that Fujitsu marked uncorrectable. (Both under UNIX and the System Industries diagnostics).
