Aucbvax.5039 fa.unix-wizards utzoo!decvax!ucbvax!unix-wizards Mon Nov 9 20:45:43 1981 unix wizards >From bryant@uwisc Mon Nov 9 20:08:28 1981 I hate to be a bother, but could you forward this to unix-wizards for me? System types here say that they have no idea why the message gets rejected. Thanks. Subject: SIMPAS From: bryant@uwisc The "SIMULA to PASCAL" translator referred to in previous unix-wizards mail most probably refers to SIMPAS. This is a discrete system simulation language embedded in PASCAL via a preprocessor (to enhance portability). Succinctly stated, SIMPAS extends PASCAL by adding statements for (1) event declaration and scheduling (2) entity declaration, creation, destruction (3) linked list declaration, insertion, removal (4) statistics collection (5) random number generation SIMPAS is more a strongly typed implementation of SIMSCRIPT II.5 rather than SIMULA. Although designed to be highly portable, machine specific implementations for VAX UNIX (assumes UW pc external compilation extensions but could be converted to UCB pc) and UNIVAC 1100 systems using UW-PASCAL do exist. Distribution is $100 for academic types, $300 for profit takers.
