If one (or more) of a user's user groups matches one (or more) of the directory's directory groups, then the user is granted the accesses specified by the group-access portion of the file protection. On our system, there are a number of project oriented groups, plus an individual group for each user. This provides a quite flexible system, allowing the granting of access to a file or set of files on a per user basis, or on a per group basis. =S ------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
