Aucbvax.2503 fa.unix-wizards utzoo!decvax!ucbvax!HLP.AD@MIT-SPEECH@MIT-AI Fri Jul 31 13:33:14 1981 New UNIX installation From: HLP.AD at MIT-SPEECH at MIT-AI Hi, We are a new community of UNIX users at MIT's Center for Cognitive Science. Our purpose in life is to do research mainly in the areas of natural languages and linguistics as well as cognitive psych. My name is Allan Doyle (hlp.ad@mit-speech) and I'm the system manager for the system. I am naive in terms of UNIX and will need some help to get up to speed. Our system consists of an 11/44 with 256kb, dual RL02's, a TS03 (9 track 800bpi), two DZ11s and an LPA11-k. We are in the process of adding a CDC9762 with an emulex controller (RM02 emulation) and hope to buy one or two Mbytes of memory soon. I understand there is some mailing list for UNIX users on the ARPAnet. I would like to be included in that list. I am also interested in locating a UNIX (V7) LPA driver. Oh, and we will have two triple modems up soon, too. Allan Doyle, System Manager MIT 20D-105 77 Mass.
