Aucbvax.7052 fa.info-vax utzoo!decvax!ucbvax!info-vax Tue May 4 15:31:27 1982 Request for help >From CPR@MIT-XX Tue May 4 15:29:02 1982 I would like to configure an 11/750 to run Unix for 4-8 users doing fairly ambitious things (cc, tex, emacs), and want to spend about $120-150K. Cost isn't the crucial factor: performance is, as the 750 vs 780 has been decided by environmental concerns. Please reply directly to me, as perhaps the entire info-vax group could care less. If some info along these lines has already been conveyed (though I don't remember it, having watched from the begninning), point me at the archives. Thanks. --Chris (My default plan is to get a minimal 750 from DEC, add National memory and Fujitsu drives, but what controllers do I need, etc? Even better, does anyone know of a DEC OEM in the bay area which does this sort of thing? IDS, perhaps?) ------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
