It tries to teach vanilla V7 Unix, and does a plausible job. It includes system-manager information (how the file system works, and how to repair broken file systems, though not in any real detail). It was typeset with TeX on an Onyx box (a Unidot demi-product), using BNR's Alphatype with Don Knuth's fonts. Fairly slick, though it uses those horrid boxes at the top of each page (as exemplified by the TeX manual). ------- ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
