I used it a bit and my general impressions were somewhat mixed. It seemed to be quite easy to get the terminal into odd catatonic states if you get garbage embedded in an escape string. I did a termcap entry for VI and it worked adequately. I didn't like the keyboard feel or layout on our unit. After I complained, they said they would rethink it. Maybe they have, I haven't seen one hands-on since. I still think the Z-19 is a big win in that price range (~$750), so why make life hard? The Dialog does have a detatchable keyboard, a plus over the Z-19 however. The Dialog does have some video attribute things, but I think is suffers the magic cookie problem like many cheap terminals. -Mike ----------------------------------------------------------------- gopher://quux.org/ conversion by John Goerzen of http://communication.ucsd.edu/A-News/ This Usenet Oldnews Archive article may be copied and distributed freely, provided: 1.
