Its 'computed sell price', which is the price at which it would sell to earn standard profits, was about $350. Considering the amortization of the design and tooling costs, Heath/Zenith are in a position to keep the terminal competitive for a long time, by just dropping the price. An interesting side effect of printed circuts and ic's is that it is usually much cheaper to produce the wired version of a item than it is to produce the kit.
