Can you ask him why their implementation is so slow that for char insert/delete it is faster to retransmit the line at speeds above 1200 baud? As for line insert/delete, the scroll region stuff can be used to simulate the operation faster than the line insert/delete commands! At least they could take advantage of the argument to do one insert/delete, instead of having the operation take a time proportional to the number of lines or chars inserted or deleted. I don't know about the VT101/VT131; are they any faster? I was incredibly disappointed by the VT132.
