Aucbvax.5613 fa.digest-p utzoo!decvax!ucbvax!digest-people Sun Dec 27 15:12:19 1981 standard format digests >From cbosgd!mark@Berkeley Sun Dec 27 15:00:11 1981 If I'm not mistaken, there is no standard format for digests. I would also very much like to see one - this would make it possible for a program to split them up into separate messages, or to reply to an individual note. What say we come up with a standard digest format? The most of the format is pretty obvious - you agree on such things as how many dashes separate messages and a few minor details like this. The only thing that worries me is the mailing address of the sender of one message within the digest. Making it simply "arpanet relative" is not good enough since there are digests that do not involve the arpanet and have to deal with the uucp addressing nonsense. (Not that I have a better idea at the moment.)
